project summary:

In this instance, my empty-nester clients, a couple who had lived in town for many years, wanted to downsize to feel at home and entertain their family, friends, and grandchildren. This newly built traditional home is known for its elegance and charm while living modern. The design inspiration was based on the narrow, long, and thin lot we had to work with. We wanted it to fit into the charming existing streetscape. The classical symmetry and a black-and-white exterior palette highlight the lush green landscape surrounding the property. As my clients described it to me after they moved in, this wonderful home was a Faberge Egg. As Faberge eggs are known for their great luxury and elegance, we felt we had achieved our architectural goals.

scope:

A new 3,200 sq. ft. home with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths. Master bedroom on the ground floor. Three bedrooms upstairs for guests and grandkids.
