Chambers & Chambers Architecture is a design-driven architecture firm specializing in luxury residential projects. We are seeking an experienced Senior Interior Architect to join our growing team and lead the development, documentation, and coordination of Interior Architecture across a portfolio of high-end residential work.This role is ideal for a highly organized, technically sophisticated, and design-focused professional who enjoys collaborating across disciplines while maintaining ownership of project delivery and construction documentation.
Position Overview
The Senior Interior Architect will be responsible for leading the development, documentation, and coordination of Interior Architecture packages from Concept Design through Construction Administration. This individual will own the complete Interior Architecture drawing set, ensuring that all design intent is fully documented, coordinated, and executed to the highest standard.
Working closely with the Architectural team and the FF&E Department, the Senior Interior Architect will lead project delivery for the entire Interior Architecture scope, including space planning, finish selections, millwork design, lighting coordination, plumbing coordination, appliance integration, hardware coordination, and construction detailing. This is a project leadership role that requires exceptional technical expertise, coordination with consultants, and experience in construction documentation. The position will work alongside a dedicated FF&E team who will oversee furnishings, procurement, specifications, and installation.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage the complete Interior Architecture drawing package from Concept Design through Construction Administration. Lead project-specific Interior Architecture design and technical execution. Develop and manage comprehensive construction documentation packages, including:
Space Planning
Interior Elevations
Millwork Design and Detailing
Finish Plans and Schedules
Reflected Ceiling Plans
Lighting Coordination
Plumbing Fixture Coordination
Appliance Coordination
Hardware Coordination
Construction Details
Lead coordination between Architecture, Interior Architecture, FF&E, Lighting, MEP, Structural, andspecialty consultants to ensure a fully integrated design solution.
Review and coordinate consultant drawings for consistency, quality, and constructability.
Participate in client presentations, design reviews, and project meetings.
Maintain quality control standards throughout all phases of project delivery.
Assist in developing Interior Architecture standards, drawing templates, and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Interior Architecture 15+ years of professional experience in luxury residential projects. Strong technical detailing and construction documentation expertise. Extensive experience producing complete construction document packages and coordinating consultants. Advanced Proficiency in Revit. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office. Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, detailing, and building systems. Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working within highly collaborative architecture and design environments. Experience coordinating closely with FF&E teams and procurement departments. Experience mentoring junior staff and leading project teams.
